Cycle to Work

Tax Free Bikes and Accessories

Your employer's cycle to work scheme is a great way of getting a new bike and improving your fitness while you commute to work!

Cycle to Work schemes enable employees to obtain new bikes and cycling equipment for their commute.

Through the scheme your employer will be invoiced for your cycle to work voucher, which can include both a bike and accessories, you then make a pre-tax salary sacrifice over a set period.

After the set period has expired you may then be given the option to make a settlement on the bike and own it outright. This method of repayment makes Cycle to Work an incredibly cost effective way of gaining access to brand new cycling equipment.

Each scheme works slightly differently. We've outlined the main steps below to give you an overview of the process. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Get Started

1. Check with your employer / HR Department

See what scheme they're signed up with - this is where your voucher is issued from, and affects where you can purchase your new bike as not all vouchers can be used in all shops. If you're unsure, we're always happy to answer any questions you may have. See the contact us section below.

2. Get in touch with us here at Bike Craft

Once you know which scheme your employer uses, tell us your ideal bike that you want to use to ride in to work. We'll do all we can to make this happen for you - we've sourced bikes from Germany and France before when they weren't available in the UK!

3. Apply for your voucher

Now you've got an idea of the bike and cycle safety equipment you're wanting and we've given you a quote, the scheme will ask your employer to confirm your eligibility and then approve your application. A hire agreement will usually be sent out for you to sign, which outlines the payment structure through your salary.

4. Bring your voucher into us

The best bit of the process - new bike time! Come down to the shop and we'll get your bike set up, any accessories you've ordered fitted and make sure you're ready for the route to work! Please remember to bring photographic ID with you like a driving licence or passport.
